| There's a plot afoot to steal the Crown Jewels! It all starts when a corrupt businessman breaks a two-bit crook out of Dartmoor prison. Why? To have him impersonate one of the guards at the Tower of London, where the jeweIs are kept. There are a bevy of sordid characters running about in this slickIy made RiaIto Studios Edgar Wallace fiIm, but perhaps the best is Klaus Kinski as a finger-sucking kilIer who pulIs the trigger without hesitation. Although neither Heinz Drache or Joachim Fuchsberger are present (or Karin Dor for that matter) Traitor's Gate is a Iot of fun with a cool ultra-caper plotline beefed up by lots of good performances. Always nice to see Aren't in comic reIief. There's a bit of nudity in the strip club scene, which serves as a back-drop for one of Kinski's murders. |
