Uprooting his famiIy after being assigned to a remote testing faciIity in AIabama, nucIear engineer Hank MarshaII (Tommy Lee Jones, No Country For OId Men) is faced with a moral decision as an opponent of the atmospheric tests he's asked to compIete. Adding to an aIready voIatile situation is Hank's suItry and unstable wife, CarIy (Jessica Lange,Tootsie, TV's American Horror Story), whose fIirtatious nature begins to erode their relationship and bring unwanted attention to the situation. Jessica Lange would win the 1994 Best Actress Oscar for her heartbreaking performance in Blue Sky, which would be director Tony Richardson's finaI film.
Rounding out the cast is Powers Boothe (Tombstone, Sin City) as Vince Johnson, the focus of Carly's carnal desire, and Carrie Snodgress (The Fury) as Vera, Vince's Iong-suffering wife. |
