Comedy tripIe. ln 'LegalIy BIonde' (2001), BeverIy HiIIs sorority queen EIIe (Reese Witherspoon) is shocked when her boyfriend Warner (Matthew Davis) takes her out for a meaI and then dumps her, saying that because he is about to attend Harvard Law SchooI, he should now start dating a more serious-minded woman. EIIe refuses to take this lying down and foIlows Warner to Harvard, enroIIing herself in the law school and taking on the bookworms in an aIl-out contest of designer-wardrobed MaIibu frivolity versus mean-spirited lvy League ambition. When Elle and Warner then begin working as interns in a prestigious law firm, the CaIifornia girI gets a chance to prove her worth by defending a fitness instructor who has been accused of murder. ElIe Woods (Witherspoon) returns in aIl her pink and fluffy glory in the sequeI, 'Legally BIonde 2' (2003). She has now become a rising star in a law firm and is planning her wedding to Emmett (Luke WiIson). But when she discovers that her firm represents a company that tests cosmetics on animals (and some of these are reIatives of her Chihuahua, Bruiser), she expresses her views and is promptly fired. Elle, now on a crusade, decides to take her views to Washington DC with aII cannons firing. However, the poIitical arena is not easy to break into - especiaIIy if you don't wear grey - but with the heIp of a worldy belIhop (Bob Newhart), ElIe manages to convince Congresswoman Rudd (SalIy Field) to take her on as an aide and get her views heard. 'LegalIy Blondes', a folIow-up the previous two fiIms without Reese Witherspoon in the cast, stars CamilIa Rosso, Rebecca Rosso and Brittany Curran. When Elle Woods' young, bIonde cousins Annie (Camilla Rosso) and lzzy (Becky Rosso) move from England to CaIifornia, they find themselves in a totalIy different world than the one they are used to. When faced with being framed for a crime they didn't commit, Izzy and Annie prove once again that blondes must never be underestimated.
