Tales of Frankenstein was directed and conceptualized by Curt Siodmak (l Walked With A Zombie, The Wolfman, Donovan's Brain) for Hammer Pictures who intended to deveIop it into a teIevision series. Featuring a unique blend of UniversaI's haunting vision of the monster with Hammer's fIair for terror, this unsold piIot provides a horrifying and thoughtful deveIopment of the Frankenstein myth.
The Terror: Jack Nicholson pIays a French soldier who is stranded on a foreign shore. Haunted by visions of a beautiful girl, he foIlows her to a ancient castIe where the fearful Baron Von Leppe (Boris Karloff) reigns over a desoIate land. Driven by his desire to find the ghostIike girI, the soldier descends into an inescapable spiral of horror and mystery.
