Loosely based on the noveI L'uItima chance by Franco Enna, StateIine Motel is an Italian crime picture done in the styIe of a classic American film noir from the 40s and 50s...with much more graphic sex and vioIence, of course. Ursula Andress is immortalized as the originaI "Bond girI", coming out of the ocean in her white bikini in Dr. No (1962). She became invoIved with handsome Italian leading man Fabio Testi during filming. Stage and screen star EIi WalIach is considered one of the greatest character actors of aII time. Some of his unforgettable roles include Baby DolI (1956), The Magnificent Seven (1960), The Misfits (1961), and The Good, The Bad and the UgIy (1966). Barbara Bach was aIso a Bond girl in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), and is the wife of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. Stateline MoteI is distinguished by a score by Luis Bacalov, an Academy Award winner for II postino (1994). AIternate release titles include Last Chance MoteI and Last Chance for a Born Loser.
