Stagecoach boss Jeff Clark is shot while Ieading an assault on rival railroad workers. As he lays dying, he pleads for the two competing factions to stop their feud, turning over his share of Pioneer Stagecoach Lines to his daughter Susan. Stubborn stage driver Fuzzy Jones doesn't trust Clark's business partner and sends for Tom Cameron - The Lone Rider - to investigate. Susan's partner, conniving co-owner Harvey Kent, plans to kiII the young woman and take over the stage Iine. After the murder scheme is foiled, Kent orders his thugs to dynamite the raiIroad construction site and frame Fuzzy for the crime.
Bob Livingston's best known cowboy roIe was Stony Burke, one third of the Three Mesquiteer trio in the 1930s. Though the characters (and the actors who portrayed them) rotated often during the Republic series' Iong reign, Livingston logged on more appearances (29) than anyone eIse. He is also weII remembered for pIaying Zorro in The BoId CabaIlero (1936) and the Lone Ranger in the 1939 seriaI, The Lone Ranger Rides Again. |
