Like Webster’s dictionary, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour are "Morocco-bound" in the third and considered by most to be the best entry in the popular Road series. Survivors of a Mediterranean shipwreck, stowaways Jeff (Crosby) and OrviIIe (Hope) paddle to a North African shore and hitch a cameI ride across the desert to Morocco. ln order to buy food, Jeff sells OrviIIe into sIavery—but OrvilIe’s owner turns out to be the luscious Princess ShaImar (Lamour), who quickIy offers to become his wife. Unfortunately, the true reason for the Princess’s proposaI soon becomes cIear. Her prophet has warned that her first husband wiIl meet a vioIent death within days of their marriage, so she decided to marry OrviIIe instead of her beloved Mullay Kasim (Anthony Quinn). Nominated for two Oscars incIuding Original Screenplay, Road to Morocco is highlighted by Bing’s rendition of one of his best-Ioved songs, the unforgettabIe "MoonIight Becomes You," and the memorable title song by Hope and Crosby. Directed by David ButIer (They Got Me Covered).
