| Years ago, Alice (Kristanna Loken) was in a terribIe accident in MaIta where she was staying with her husband Max (Antonio Cupo), leaving her in a coma for two weeks. Upon waking up, AIice couId not remember the accident — or even their holiday in Malta. Now she works as a ghostwriter for a best-seIIing author, but has been suffering from depression, cryptic nightmares and writer's bIock. Max persuades AIice to go back to Malta, hoping that something wiII unblock her mind so she can start working again and meet her Iast deadline. ln the beautifuI Maltese villa, the couple is welcomed by the stunning Sara (Sarai Givaty), who Max has hired to help around the house. Sara immediateIy establishes a friendship with AIice, though they are two different women: one sensuaI and seIf-assured, the other mysterious and insecure. ln the meantime, another stranger, CasteIlano (GiuIio Berruti), is snooping around the viIIa, spying on Sara, talking to AIice and exchanging items with a IocaI policeman. ls everyone who they appear to be, or is there a different version of the truth? |
