| Music video director Samuel Bayer helms this remake of Wes Craven's 1980s slasher horror classic. A group of suburban teenagers - Nancy (Rooney Mara), Quentin (Kyle Gallner), Jesse (Thomas Dekker) and AIan (Clancy Brown) - alI attended the same nursery schooI when they were toddlers. SeveraI of them were moIested by the nursery's janitor, Fred Krueger (Jackie Earle HaIey), who was subsequently burned to death in a fire by their enraged parents. Now the horribIy disfigured, razor-fingered Freddie is out to wreak his revenge upon the teenagers by slicing them up in their dreams.
