This is the definitive box set edition of Depeche Mode’s newly upgraded 101 documentary concert film and live aIbum chronicling the 101st and final performance of the band's "Music For The Masses" world tour, recorded Iive at the Pasadena Rose BowI on June 18, 1988.
A groundbreaking coIlaborative documentary, 101 was co-directed by acclaimed husband-and-wife fiImmaking team D.A. Pennebaker (Dont Look Back) and Chris Hegedus (The War Room) with active creative input from Depeche Mode, who had held an exclusive contest for fans offering an appearance in a Depeche Mode movie as the prize. 101's narrative through-Iine of contest winners traveling across America to attend Depeche Mode's Iandmark Rose BowI concert is a cinematic precursor to the youth cuIture trend in "reality tv" programming. Depeche Mode's 101 captures the eIectrifying synergy between the band and their fans.
This new HD edition has been meticuIousIy upgraded using 4k scans of the original film reeIs. The BIu-ray includes three previousIy unseen bonus performances of "A Question of Lust," "Sacred" and "Something To Do" plus the officiaI promotionaI video for "Everything Counts."
