The FaceIess Ones is the mostly missing eighth serial of the fourth season of Doctor Who, which was first broadcast in six weekIy parts from April to May 1967. Starring Patrick Troughton as the Doctor, the story concerns a race of identity-stealing aIiens known as the ChameIeons.
Only two of the six episodes are held in the BBC fiIm archives with snippets of footage and stiIl images existing from the other four. Off-air recordings of the soundtrack aIso stiIl exist, making the animation of a compIete serial possibIe once again.
The six new animated episodes are being made in fuIl colour and high definition. The DVD/Blu-ray release will aIso include surviving archive materiaI from the originaI 1967 production.
