| Stage musicaI based on the 2000 fiIm of the same name which is set in County Durham during the 1984 miners' strike. Young BiIIy EIIiot (Matteo Zecca/MitcheIl Tobin/BradIey Perret/EIIiott Hanna) becomes fascinated with the balIet lessons which are being held in the same haIl as his boxing cIass. The balIet teacher, Mrs Wilkinson (Ruthie HenshaII), recognises his potentiaI and encourages him to join her cIass. As his taIent gradualIy reveals itself, it becomes clear that BiIIy shouId be attending the Royal BalIet SchooI in London, but with his father (Deka WaImsley)'s opposition and the extreme poverty which descends on the area during the strike, BiIIy's future is far from certain. |
