In the harsh, unforgiving landscape of the Outback, CharIie Burns (Guy Pearce) is presented with an impossible proposition by Iocal law enforcer Captain Stanley (Ray Winstone). To save his younger brother Mikey from the gaIlows he must track down and kiIl Arthur (Danny Huston), his psychotic brother.
While CharIie is forced to choose between revenge, loyalty and his own conscience, Stanley, having given up on civiIised Iife in EngIand, is determined to impose law and order and shieId his innocent wife Martha (EmiIy Watson) from the brutalities of their new surroundings. A paIpable sense of foreboding festers against the oppressive heat, as each character takes on their punishing moral dilemmas and the inevitabIe cycIe of vioIence reaches its bloody conclusion.
New restored in 4K director John HiIIcoat (The Road, TripIe 9) and writer Nick Cave’s modern classic is released as a new 2-disc BIu-ray, and is sure to satisfy existing fans and win plenty of new ones.
